Anyone planning to visit the Chattooga County Animal Shelter today should be aware that the shelter will close before lunch while staff members assist with a rescue transport.

The Friends of Chattooga County Animal Shelter say the temporary closure will allow several dogs to be transferred to a rescue organization, giving them an opportunity to begin the next chapter of their lives.

The shelter appreciates the public’s understanding and support as staff work to help the animals find new homes through rescue.
