The Chattooga County Board of Education will hold their regular monthly meeting coming up this Thursday at the Education Center located at the old Pennville School at 7 PM.

Despite some speculation that the board would name the interim superintendent Mitch Williams to the top job in the school system, the board instead read a letter from Mr. Williams saying that he would not accept the position.  The board will now search for a school superintendent for the county’s school system.

This week the board is expected to discuss the possibility of an upcoming SPLOST vote.  The board is also expected to accept the resignation of the Chattooga County High School Young Farmer Teacher Mr. Lynn Hall.  According to the agenda from last week’s meeting, Mr. Hall will be retiring this year.
