The 2022 Chattooga County Fair opens today at 5 PM at the fairgrounds located just off Highway 100 at the Chattooga County Agricultural Building and Summerville Middle School.
Today will feature free student admission sponsored by the City of Summerville. All students will get in free and the price for adults will be $5 per ticket for gate admission. Ride arm bands will be $25.
New for this year will be a puppet show and stilt walker and once again magic shows will be featured throughout the four-day fair. Also this year, helicopter rides will once again be available for an additional charge.
Fair goers can check out the Chattooga Farm Bureau Demonstration Kitchen inside the Ag Building. At 5:30 this evening, Kay Weaver will have a demonstration on basket weaving. At 7 PM Martiza McKinney will have a program on growing mushrooms and at 8:30 PM Linda Leslie and Jayne Short will talk about “Seed Bombs” to benefit pollinators.
Under the Livestock Pavilion, the 4-H and FFA Jr. Goat Show will get underway at 5:30 PM this evening.
