The Chattooga County Fair Council met on Wednesday evening of this week and discussed plans for this year’s event. As it stands, the council is moving forward with plans to host the fair at the end of August.
Fair council members say that Governor Brian Kemp has not issued any guidance for fairs, and the Chattooga County Fair is still several months out. Fair council members feel that they must move ahead with plans for this year’s fair, but they say that there could be modifications to this year’s event due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
This year’s fair is planned for Thursday, August 27th – Sunday, August 30th.
For now, plans are to hold the annual event as planned, but changes could come in the future depending on guidance from the governor’s office and taking into account the safety of the public. The fair is held at the Chattooga County Ag Building and Summerville Middle School property located off Highway 100 in Summerville.
