The Chattooga County Young Farmers will host a Farmer Meet and Greet on October 25 at 7 pm at Summerville Middle School. The meeting is to promote the Farm to School Program that is beginning at Summerville Middle School. The meeting will begin at 7 pm at Summerville Middle School in the agriculture classroom. Dr. Teri Hamlin, Georgia Department of Education Area Horticulture Teacher, will conduct the program. The meeting will highlight the Georgia’s Local Food Program and also be a time to connect local growers with schools.

 

Community members, farmers, school administration, teachers, board of education members, school food service workers are encouraged to attend. Other teachers interested in beginning a school garden or nutrition information are invited to attend as well.
