Chattooga County property owners should prepare for their 2025 property tax bills, which are officially active as of today. The Chattooga County Tax Commissioner’s office announced that bills were sent to print vendors on Wednesday night and are expected to arrive in mailboxes over the next few weeks. All payments for the 2025 tax year will be due by December 2, 2025.

While physical bills are still in transit, property owners can view their current balance and make payments immediately online or in person.

To ease the financial burden closer to the December deadline, Tax Commissioner Joy Cooper Hampton encourages property owners to consider making partial payments throughout the year. For those who enrolled in the early payment or layaway plan, statements reflecting the remaining balance due will be mailed from the Tax Commissioner’s office soon.
