A Chattooga County man was arrested on Sunday following a physical altercation involving a stick. Deputies were dispatched to 295 Woodland Avenue at approximately 5:35 PM in response to a domestic dispute call, with reports of a male subject suffering from a laceration to the head.

Upon arrival, deputies encountered Kyle Strickland, who directed them to apartment B2 where the injured party, identified as Brandon Hullett, was located. Hullett, found shirtless and covered in blood, stated that Colby Glenn had struck him in the head with a large stick. Hullett was observed to have a significant laceration on the back of his head, prompting deputies to request EMS assistance. Hullett claimed he was traveling down Woodland Avenue when he saw a friend being confronted at 355 Woodland Avenue. He stated he exited the vehicle to intervene, at which point Heaven Carmon and Colby Glenn emerged from their residence and told him to stay off their property.

Hullett admitted to becoming upset and challenging Glenn to a fight, removing his shirt in the process. He alleged that Glenn then came onto the roadway and struck him in the head with the stick. Deputies proceeded to 355 Woodland Avenue, where they were initially approached by a male and female who insisted Hullett was at fault, having removed his shirt and entered the property after being repeatedly told to stay away. At the residence, Colby Glenn admitted to striking Hullett in the head with a wooden stick/cane, which he retrieved for the deputies. Glenn claimed Hullett had a history of theft and threats against him. He stated that Hullett ignored repeated warnings to stay off his property, became agitated, removed his shirt, and advanced onto his property, prompting him to use the stick for defense. A female witness corroborated Glenn’s account.

Glenn told deputies that using the stick was not the best course of action, he was subsequently arrested and charged with Battery. He was transported to the Chattooga County Jail without incident.

Deputies also stated that Brandon Hullett will be charged with Disorderly Conduct for allegedly initiating the altercation, disturbing the peace, and trespassing at the residence.
