Chattooga County man was arrested and faces misdemeanor charges after a traffic stop on Dec. 4, according to an incident arrest report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.

The report states a gray GMC Yukon was observed traveling in the roadway on Mountain View Road before the driver allegedly accelerated and attempted to evade a traffic stop. Investigators say the vehicle continued at a high rate of speed, passed other traffic, and failed to stop at a stop sign before pulling into a driveway in the Mountain View Road area.

After the vehicle stopped, the report alleges the driver showed signs of impairment, including the odor of an alcoholic beverage and bloodshot, glossy eyes. The report also notes an open beer container was located inside the vehicle. Field sobriety testing was conducted, and the driver was taken into custody, the report states. Authorities further report the driver declined the implied consent request for a chemical test. The individual was transported to the Chattooga County Jail.

The man, identified in the report as Justice Blake Wayne Wilson, 30, was charged with fleeing/attempting to elude an officer (misdemeanor), DUI-alcohol (misdemeanor), and traffic offenses, according to the document.
