Authorities from two states searched a home on Fish Hatchery Road yesterday and arrested a Chattooga County man on four felony warrants following an on line sex-sting operation.

Fifty eight year old Valter Elroy Hartbarger of 784 Fish Hatchery Road in Summerville was taken into custody by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department and officials from Blount County, Tennessee.

Hartbarger had been involved in a sexualy explicit internet conversation that included him sending lewd pictures of himself to what he thought was a minor.  In reality, he was having a conversation with officials from the Blount County Sheriffs Department who had set up the on-line sting operation.  Tennessee authorities arrested Hartbarger for soliciting, sexual exploitation of a minor, exploitation of a minor by electronic means and tow counts of solicitation of a minor according to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department.
