A Chattooga County man stole a string trimmer from an elderly woman and when confronted about theft, brought it back.  But he still went to jail.

According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, fifty-nine-year-old Bobby Lee Battles of a Chattooga Avenue address is accused of stealing the weed whacker but when he was confronted by the elderly woman’s family members, brought the string trimmer back.  Battles had been warned several times prior to the theft to stay away from the property.

He was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and theft by taking and booked into the Chattooga County Jail on July 18th.
