Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton says tax bills were mailed last week and should be arriving in mailboxes this week. 

The tax commissioner is reminding Chattooga County taxpayers of her office’s business hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 7:30-5:30, closed on Wednesdays.
If your escrow account pays your bill, your mortgage company should request it from us, but you can send them a copy of your bill just in case.
If you’re paying for several parcels, one check for all is fine; separate checks are needed when paying property tax and renewing a vehicle at the same time.
You don’t have to have the bill to make a payment. It is helpful if you know whose name the property is in, the address, or a general idea of where the property is on a map.
We accept cash, check or credit cards.
The credit card processor does charge a 2.5% convenience fee for their service; this is the lowest we’ve found for the service they provide. If you want to avoid their fee, cash or check is perfectly fine.
Taxes are due December 1, 2022.
