One of the individuals charged with committing convenience store robberies in Chattooga and Floyd counties earlier in the year – has now been indicted in Floyd County.
42 year old James Tyrone Carmichael, of Rome – along with 26 year old Alabama resident, Jake Skuse, was arrested Sunday, January 31st at the Carousel Inn in Trion.
At that time, Carmichael was charged with two counts of armed robbery, the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of methamphetamine.
According to reports, just two days prior to his arrest in Chattooga County, Carmichael had entered A-1 Food & Beverage on Burnett Ferry Road, robbing the clerk at gunpoint; he was also charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and with one count of wearing a mask or hood concealing the identity of the wearer.
