All Chattooga County Schools will implement an early dismissal schedule on Thursday, August 21st, and Friday, August 22nd, to accommodate anticipated traffic congestion related to the upcoming Chattooga County Fair events at Summerville Middle School.

Students will be released at 1:30 PM on both days. The decision aims to facilitate smoother traffic flow around Summerville Middle School, which serves as a central location for the annual county fair. By dismissing students earlier, the district intends to mitigate potential traffic bottlenecks and ensure safety as fair preparations intensify and attendees begin to arrive.

School officials confirmed that lunch will be served as usual before the adjusted dismissal time. Importantly, all scheduled after-school activities and programs are set to proceed as planned, unaffected by the earlier dismissal.

The school system expressed its appreciation for the community’s understanding and cooperation regarding the temporary schedule adjustment. Parents and guardians are urged to make necessary arrangements to ensure prompt pickup of car riders at the revised 1:30 PM dismissal time.

For any questions or additional information, parents are advised to contact their child’s respective school directly.
