Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton says her office will be closing at noon on Friday due to ongoing renovations.  The Tax Commissioner posted the following message on Thursday afternoon:

Flooring crews are scheduled to return to work in our office on Friday, so we will close the tax/tag office at 12:00 pm on Friday, December 30th and will reopen on January 3, 2023 at 7:30 am. I have tried to schedule the construction here around holidays to reduce inconveniences to our customers, and I appreciate the patience shown to us during our reconstruction. We are all looking forward to having the Labor Day flood behind us!
