Georgia continues to enjoy record-low unemployment, and that trend is holding up in all regions of the Peach State, including Northwest Georgia.  Chattooga County saw a slight decrease in unemployment for the month of September, according to the latest numbers from the Georgia Department of Labor.

There was some speculation that the Labor Day Weekend Flood would cause a slight increase in the number of unemployed workers in Chattooga County, but the numbers released last week from the Georgia Department of Labor show that the unemployment rate was down 4/10ths of a point to give the county an unemployment rate of 3.7%.

Still, Chattooga County’s unemployment rate is higher than neighboring counties that all had unemployment rates of 2.9% or below.
