An employee at the Chattooga County Courthouse has been tested for COVID-19 after exhibiting symptoms.  Commissioner Jason Winters says that the main courthouse will be CLOSED the remainder of the day today and also on Wednesday.  Test results on the employee are expected to be back on Wednesday.  You can read Commissioner Winters’ statement below:

The Commissioner’s Office was notified Tuesday, April 28 at 2:10 PM of an employee at the Main Courthouse that had experienced symptoms of COVID-19 and had been tested. Those test results are expected by Wednesday, April 29.   To operate on the side of caution the Main Courthouse will be closed Tuesday Afternoon and Wednesday. Employees of the Main Courthouse have been given information to get access to testing if the test is positive. This will impact the operations of the Probate Court, Clerk of Court, Superior Court Office, Main Courtroom, State Court Office, State of Georgia Probation and the Public Defender’s Office.  All other Chattooga County Offices remain open and an update will be sent out as soon as more information is received.
