
Chattooga County Democrats will be hosting their annual dinner coming up this evening at the Chattooga County Civic Center on Highway 48 in Summerville at 6 PM. The local party has not had an annual dinner since before the COVID-19 pandemic. Tonight’s meeting will feature keynote speaker U.S. Representative Nikema Williams. Williams also serves as the Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia. Also this evening, Summerville Mayor Harry Harvey and former State Representative Barbara Massey Reece will receive honors from the local party. The party will also recognize prominent Democrats who have passed away over the past year, including former State Representative Tim Perry and former Chattooga County Sheriff and GEMA Director Gary McConnell. Tickets are $20 each and will be available at the door.
