In the webinar w/NWS we learned that the most severe weather should be here around
6 pm or maybe a little before.
This will consist of strong damaging winds, large hail(poss. 2") and high risk of tornados. We
could see 1-2 inches of rain and 70 mph winds from super cells forming in the squall line.
Chattooga County is in the high risk zone. Dr. Greg Forbes of the Weather Channel places NW
Georgia in a TorCon of 6 out 10. This is 60% chance we’ll see a tornado within 50 miles of us.
This is a dangerous situation. Folks should review or develop an emergency plan and stay alert
for changes in the weather. Monitor TV and Radio as well as the internet for updates. You should
not take this situation lightly.
