The August 2012 foreclosure rate map was released on Thursday. Numbers around the area still look to be higher than most around Georgia, except in Chattooga County.

 In Floyd County, 92 homes were foreclosed on, 1 in every 441. In Polk County homes were foreclosed on, 1 in 220 homes. Bartow saw 185 foreclosures or 1 in 215 homes. Gordon County posted 56 foreclosures or 1 in every 398 and Chattooga County saw only 12 foreclosures or 1 in every 915 housing units.

Fulton County posted the highest numbers in the state with 1,185 foreclosures. They were followed by Gwinnett at 1,025, DeKalb at 900, Cobb at 482, Clayton at 426, Henry at 421, Cherokee at 308, Douglas at 221, Bartow at 185 and Chatham at 180.
