Cedar Bluff School in neighboring Cherokee County, Alabama has a new Principal who is a former Chattooga High School teacher.

During the Wednesday meeting of the Cherokee County School Board, former Cedar Bluff Staff member Torey McDaniel was unanimously approved to fill the position being by current Principal Rusty Thrasher who is retiring.

McDaniel had been serving as the Assistant Principal at Spring Garden School before accepting the position at Cedar Bluff.

McDaniel commented on accepting the new position, ” I realize the tremendous honor it is to become your new principal. I understand the assignment and I will work as hard as I can to make everyone proud. I would like to thank Mr. Thrasher and Mr. WcWhorter for your faith in me to lead this school and community. It is bittersweet that my Aunt Deborah, my grandmother Sybil Stallings, and my Mother Shelia McDaniel are not here to see this day that they all have had such a hand in making. I want to thank my dad and my wife and kids that support me more than anyone could ever know.”
