The 2025 high school football season came to an end for the Chattooga Indians on Halloween Night as they were on the road to take on the Coosa Eagles. The game, played at Coosa, was “neck and neck” from the opening kickoff, with neither team able to establish a dominant lead. As the fourth quarter began, the tension escalated, knowing this final battle would determine the trajectory of both teams heading into the off season.

Chattooga appeared poised to claim victory late in the final frame. After punching the ball into the endzone and successfully converting the extra point, the Indians led 21-14, clinging to a one-score lead with only minutes remaining on the clock. However, the hosting Eagles refused to wilt. Coosa mounted a critical drive, utilizing their passing attack and ground game to push deep into Indian territory. They eventually converted the necessary points pushing ahead 23-21 just before the final whistle.

The late rally sealed the win for Coosa, securing one of the tightest victories in the rivalry’s recent history. The razor-thin margin marks the closest Coosa has defeated Chattooga since September 15, 2017, underscoring just how evenly matched the highly anticipated season finale truly was.

The loss was particularly stinging for the Chattooga Indians, as it ended their 2025 season. Despite the hard-fought effort throughout the evening, they finish the year with a final record of 3-7.
