The Chattooga County Library is getting into the spirit of the spooky season this October with their “Hallow-Read Reading Challenge.” Throughout the month, the library is inviting all members of the community to participate in a fun, bingo-style reading challenge on the Beanstack app.

Readers can earn digital badges by completing a variety of fall and Halloween-themed activities, such as reading books with specific attributes like “a book with a pumpkin on the cover” or “a book featuring witches.” Participants can also earn badges for attending library programs related to the season, or for utilizing the library’s resources in creative ways.

The challenge is designed to get people reading, exploring, and celebrating the cozy autumn atmosphere. Bingo cards with the challenge grid will be available for pickup at any of the library’s branch locations, providing an old-school option for those who prefer a physical reading log. Regardless of whether readers choose the digital or physical format, the goal is the same – to complete a “bingo” by earning four badges in a row before the end of October 31st.

Those who manage to achieve bingo will be rewarded for their literary efforts, having successfully navigated the Hallow-Read Reading Challenge.
