The Chattooga Library is inviting young readers to take part in a new monthly reading program designed to build confidence and a love of books.
The program, called Chapter Champs, is open to children ages 6 to 11 and will meet Monday, January 12, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Chattooga Library, located at 360 Farrar Drive in Summerville. The event is hosted by the Sara Hightower Regional Library System.
During each session, children will gather to read the first chapter of a book together. Participants can then check out the book and finish it on their own before the next meeting. Library staff say the program encourages independent reading while giving kids a chance to connect with others their age. Snacks will be provided.
Chapter Champs will meet once a month, and registration is required. Parents or guardians interested in signing up their child can contact the Chattooga Library at 706-857-2553 for more information.
