A Chattooga County man was arrested Tuesday and charged with theft after police investigators said he tried to pawn stolen tools.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Calvin Daniel Koonce, 18, of 1821 Back Berryton Road in Summerville, turned himself in at the jail around 2 p.m. He was charged with felony theft by taking and two counts of felony theft by deception.
Warrants for his arrest stated that Koonce allegedly took electrical tools from a job site at 3175 Cedartown Highway on May 7. He then apparently sold the stolen tools at two different Rome pawn shops.
