Chattooga County’s hometown Olympian Brody Malone successfully defended his all-around title at the U.S. championships over the past weekend in Tampa, Florida.
Malone, who is a resident of Summerville and graduated from Trion High School was able to dominate the gymnastic championships by more than five points against his competitors. Malone had a two-day score of 176.590 and had strong performances on horizontal bar and floor exercise.
Malone and Donnell Whittenburg have automatically qualified to the represent the U.S. at the world championships in Liverpool, England, this October.
