The Chattooga River Group postponed their cleanup that was planned for this past weekend.  The group had planned to clean trash, trees and debris on the Chattooga River between Trion and the river bridge near The Summerville News on Saturday.

Chairman of the group, Josh Powell said that many of the members of the group were on vacation and out of town or had other commitments this past weekend.  The group plans to reschedule the event at a later date, and says that they can always use extra volunteers.

The Chattooga River Group is made up of community members who have a passion for the Chattooga River.  Powell, along with Chamber Director Cindy Rivers-McGraw, local CERT Team Director John Sterner, Commissioner Blake Elsberry and Harrison Couch, make up the board of directors for the group.
