The Chattooga County School System released its weekly COVID-19 report on Friday of last week.  The numbers show 57 total positive cases of COVID-19 at Chattooga High School, which prompted school officials to switch the high school to virtual learning.

With the percentage of students at 8.37%, above the 5% threshold, Supt. Jared Hosmer says that the high school will be moving from a hybrid-model to virtual learning for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.  The school system says that the virtual learning days will allow cleaning staff time to deep-clean the school building.  Chattooga High School students will need to consult the short-term closer plan for class instructions for next week.

There were 15 cases being reported at Summerville Middle School; 19 cases at Leroy Massey Elementary; 4 cases at Lyerly Elementary; 10 cases at Menlo Elementary and 1 case in Chattooga Pre-K.
