The COVID numbers have improved in the Chattooga County School system, according to numbers that were released on Friday of last week. No school in the system is showing a positive rate over 5% – which is the threshold for closing individual schools.
Chattooga High School was reporting 28 cases; Summerville Middle School had 9 cases; Leroy Massey Elementary had 18 cases; Lyerly Elementary had 4 and Menlo Elementary had 9. Chattooga Pre-K was reporting no cases.
Schools were closed on Friday of last week to allow for an extra day for cleaning and to provide more time for students to be apart in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID.
