Chattooga County Troop 7 Scouts had the unique opportunity to sleep “IN THE DEEP” surrounded by the beauty of marine life in the Tennessee Aquarium. The overnight event included exclusive behind-the-scenes access. Scouts learned how animals are cared for, such as lemurs, octopus, and sharks. The group toured both River Journey and Ocean Journey. Scouts visited the quarantine area, a shark breeding area, and was able to look down into the larger tanks.
The group set up camp and enjoyed watching sea creatures glide gracefully through the serene water as they settled into their sleeping bags. Scouts became the wake-up animal care team as they woke up the stingrays and many small sharks.
Troop 7 enjoyed a guided program of the aquatic critters and got to meet several animal ambassadors during their time at the Tennessee Aquarium.
