Both Chattooga High School and Trion High School wrestling teams are boasting some new State Champions this week.

The GHSA State Traditional Tournament is ongoing this week, with both Trion and Chattooga competing in their regions over the last few days.

The Chattooga Indians have a new 220lb State Champion in Ty Veatch. Rowan Burdick brought home a medal as State Runner-up in the 160lb weight class. Kendra Heroch competed in the GHSA Girls State Championship for the Indians, where she also placed 2nd in the 142lb weight class.

The Trion Bulldogs have 2 State Champions with Logan Eller and Zach Sharp both winning their respective weight classes. They placed 2nd overall and 1st in Public Schools. They also had many other state placers with 113-Daegen Vaughn 4th, 120-Seth Huskins 2nd, 132-Bryce James 3rd, 160-Logan Eller 1st, 182-Bladyn Bowman 3rd, 195-Zach Sharp 1st, 220-Brantley Willbanks 2nd.
