Chattooga Football has been in the news this week since the release of 11 year veteran coach John Starr. AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio has heard from many of our listeners about the release of Coach Starr. Overwelmingly, opinion has not been favorable as to the release of Coach Starr. Even many who believed that the Chattooga Football Program should go in a different direction have stated that the timing of Coach Starr’s release was not in good taste.
On Monday, Jim Lenderman — a former Chattooga player and the school’s current athletic director and assistant principal — conducted his first practice since being named the interim head coach on Saturday morning.
According to Lenderman, the team has done well with the coaching transition.
“I was very pleased, and the coaches were very pleased,” Linderman said. “I was impressed at their attitude and at how they’re handling this difficult time.”
The Indians (3-1) are now preparing for tonight’s matchup at Sonoraville and are attempting to put last Friday’s upset against Armuchee behind them.
