Hundreds of people were without power in Cherokee County, Alabama Thursday morning after storms damaged the main transmission lines coming into the county.
WEIS Radio’s Jerry Baker said that TVA was reporting the main transmission lines were damaged and it would be days before the lines were back up and totally repaired. Late last night Baker said, "Cherokee Electric Coop said that the TVA Transmisson lines serving Cherokee County will be down for 7 till 10 days. Lives will be changed and we will have change the way we live."
There is no school in Cherokee County, Alabama today.
