Summerville Police Jail Grinch – See Him At The Depot During Christmas in the Park

Children of all ages are invited to enjoy the City of Summerville’s annual Christmas In The Park. Dowdy Park will come to life this Friday, December 11, 2015, as holiday cheer is offered free to the public from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Santa and friends will arrive at the Summerville Depot at 5:30 p.m. to visit and offer free photos with children. There is no fear of the Grinch spoiling this occasion, since he has been captured by the Summerville Police and is currently being held behind bars.

Free hot chocolate, cotton candy, and popcorn will be available in the middle gazebo to tempt the taste buds. Traditional holiday hay rides will once again be offered, boarding from the park.  Don’t miss the opportunity to nestle up to the bonfire, while enjoying special live performances by the Horizon Hand Bell Choir, Chattooga Chorus, The Southern Style Sweetheart Cloggers, North Summerville Sign Team, Lindsey Godfrey, Randy Croy, and more. Musical entertainment will be a highlight of the evening, bringing Christmas cheer to all.

Drawings will be held for a girl’s and a boy’s bike, donated by Santa In Uniform, as well as a Christmas ham, donated by Complete Cash. Tickets will be available at the big gazebo at no charge. Only one ticket per item will be allowed per person. The announcement of winners will be at the small gazebo at 7:45 p.m. Ticket holders must be present to win.

Christmas In The Park just wouldn’t be complete without elves and cookies.  Once again children will have the chance to be named “The Best Dressed Elf’ and holiday bakers will battle to earn the right for their cookie to be proclaimed as the “Best Christmas Cookie of 2015”.
