Chattooga County residents are invited to take part in the City of Summerville’s special tree lighting project for Christmas.
Schools, churches, businesses and individuals are invited to light up Dowdy park for the Holidays with “Christmas Trees In The Park”. Each participating school, organization and individual will be responsible for purchasing their three, bringing it to the park, and decorating it with lights and decorations of their own choosing at a predetermined area that will be marked with a numbered wooden stake.
It is suggested that participants use LED lights and zip-tie ornaments, or use floral wire to secure the decorations. Weather-proof decorations are recommended.
Trees may be dedicated in honor of, or in memory of individuals. Also, trees may simply be sponsored by a business or organization.
All trees should be up in place by November 23rd and must be left up until January 1st. Trees must be removed from the park no later than January 4th.
