St. Patrick’s evening was lucky for several former CHS coaches, principals, teachers, and students. A reception was held in honor of Joe Kines, who served as head football coach from 1969 until 1972.

Coach Kines went on to a noteworthy career as a college and pro football coach with teams including Jacksonville State, Clemson University, University of Florida, University of Alabama, University of Georgia, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

When speaking to the crowd of over 200, Coach Kines said he was so proud of his former CHS players and that he learned a lot from them that had served him well over the years. Coach Kines was inducted into the Hall of Fame along with Sewell Cash, Gary McConnell, and Garland Pinholster.
