Three CHS Students participated in the Northwest Technical Competition January 25th at Georgia Highlands College. 10th grader Chaley Harris and 11th grader Gabe McGuire submitted stunning photos and competed in the Digital Photography event. 10th grader Gray Beach submitted a music video and competed in the Video Production event. Each of the students are enrolled in the Audio Video Technology and Film course at CHS. The AVTF program is in its second year and is the newest CTAE Pathway to be offered at Chattooga.

     Both students took their own photos and edited them using software and New Apple Mac computers purchased for the AVTF Program last year. The Program uses different applications in the Adobe Creative Suite for photo editing and video production. The Adobe Suite and the Apple Mac computers are the latest technology being used in the career fields AV Technology.
Chaley’s photo of the baseball was taken at her home after a rain storm. She has a unique perspective and an eye for detail. Notice the clarity of the dew drops on the gras around the ball.

11th grader Gabe McGuire used Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to lay a photo of his friend over the top of a background photo from Alcatraz Prison in California.

     Gabe used a Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom to add a photo of his friend, Emily DeBerry, to the background of a photo he took over the summer at Alcatraz Prison in California. The original photo of Emily was taken at her home. Gabe has amazing technical skills and he ie very detail oriented. He is a whiz with electronics and he enjoys taking beautiful photos and editing them to bring out even more beauty.

Gray Beach Hoverboard Video

     Gray used Adobe Premiere Pro to create and edit an aquatic hoverboarding music video. He used various clips of hover boarders and a soundtrack to created the video. He created the video clips to flow and change with the music. He is an excellent student and has a talent for video editing.

CTAE Courses offer students a wide variety of opportunities to use their talents an develop skills for college and technical education and for the world of work. CHS currently offers 15 pathways in eight different career clusters.
