The secretary of New Zion Baptist Church in Rome allegedly used $2,500 of the church’s funds to purchase an outbuilding to place on her property, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Trudy Irene Crowe, 45, of 4251 Alabama Highway, is charged with felony theft by conversion for taking the money on June 12, 2015, to purchase the outbuilding.

She was being held without bond late Saturday.
