A Mariatta woman received a citation from the Georgia State Patrol as the result of a wreck over the weekend on Lyerly Dam Road.
According to the report that was released this week by the GSP post in Rome, 34 year old April Mallonee Tyree of Mariatta was traveling west on Lyerly Dam Road when she came upon the sharp curve in the road she applied her brakes on her 2003 Dodge Ram pickup and slid into the front of Lee Alton Howard of Lyerly who was driving a 1998 Mazda. Howard’s vehicle began to spin out of control and landed off an embankment.
Howard received injuries from the accident and was transported to Floyd Medical Center by Chattooga County EMS.
Tyree received a citation for having slick tires on the rear of her pickup truck that were below the minimum tread that is legally allowed.
