The City of Summerville has issued a Request for Bid (RFB) for the purchase of a new Caterpillar Model 420 Backhoe Loader.

Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on March 9, 2026, at Summerville City Hall, located at 120 Georgia Avenue, Summerville, Georgia 30747. Bids must remain valid for 60 business days and are subject to all conditions outlined in the bid documents.

City officials will open the bids promptly at 2:00 p.m. the same day in the City Hall Council Room. The contents of the bids will be made public for interested respondents and others in attendance. However, the contract will not be awarded until designated city officials have had sufficient time to review each submission.

All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked on the outside with:

“RFB-2026-121-New Caterpillar Model 420 Backhoe Loader”

City officials emphasize that any bid received after the 2:00 p.m. deadline will not be accepted or considered. The City of Summerville will not be responsible for delays caused by postal services, delivery carriers, or other submission issues.
