A Chattooga County sheriff’s deputy responded to a call about a theft of services that was reported by the City of Summerville on Monday of this week.

According to an incident report released Thursday, the Summerville employee said that someone had cut the lock off a gas meter at 325 Back Valley Road in Summerville, and the homeowners were using gas without consent from the City of Summerville.

A report about the theft was placed on file on behalf of the city.
