It’s hard to believe that North Georgia remains in the grip of a drought, but that is the word from state climatologist’s who say the outlook for the drought going away is not good. Chattooga County is expected to get another 2 inches of rain today, but according to officials the area is still in drought condition and rainfall for this winter is well below average. While the recent rains have eased drought conditions in Northwest Georgia we remain in an official drought and the Northeast Georgia mountains remain in critical drought condition.
