Cherokee County, Alabama Schools Closed on Tuesday

Fort Payne City Schools Closed on Tuesday

Due to the anticipation of severe weather, all campuses of Georgia Northwestern Technical College will be closed on Tuesday, January 16. All classes, activities and events are canceled. 

The City of Summerville offices will be closed during regular business hours on Tuesday, January 16 and again Wednesday, January 17 until Noon due to inclement weather and freezing temperatures. Essential personnel will report to work as normal both days

Chattooga Early Headstart/ Headstart will be closed Tuesday January 16th.

Chattooga County Governmental offices will open on a 10am delay Tuesday and Wednesday. Transit will operate as needed and as roads allow.

Chattooga County Public Works has pre treated all county roads in the higher elevations that may see some freezing rain and ice. The Georgia Department of Transportation has advised they have pre treated all Georgia Highways in the county and surrounding areas as well.

Trion Town Hall will delay opening until 10 AM on Tuesday morning.

Chattooga County Health Department Delayed Opening until 10 AM on Tuesday.

-Walker County Transit will be closed.
-Walker County Government offices will open at 10:00 a.m.
-Walker County Landfill will open at 10:00 a.m.
-The Walker County Civic Center will be open as a warming shelter from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you need a place to get out of the cold prior to the Civic Center opening, please call 911 for help with accommodations.
