A Cloudland man was arrested Sunday after an altercation with his mother and son. Michael Clayton Smith was charged with simple battery.

 

According to the report, Lenora Freeman Eshaghian, of a Gillreath Mill Road, Cloudland address, told officers that she and her son, Michael Smith, got into an argument and Smith got in her face and pushed her. She said her grandson, Smith's son, stepped between them and got into a physical altercation with  39-year-old Smith.

 

The grandson said Smith pushed the grandmother and the son started punching his father. Esheghian said Smith provoked his son by getting in his his face, belittling him, calling him names and cursing him. She said Michael Smith  also tried to get the son to go outside and fight him. 

 

Smith was taken to the Chattooga County Jail.
