Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry has responded to some complaints levied against the land development he implemented earlier this year.  The commissioner released a response on social media earlier this week.

Elsberry says that there has been “some miscommunication” about the ordinance and says that the new ordinance was necessary because of “unprecedented growth in the North Georgia Region”.

The commissioner contends that the ordinance does not apply to agriculture and farming and will not affect the “dividing of an estate among the heirs” that inherit land.  Also, the commissioner says that the ordinance “does not establish zones or zoning.

The commissioner is inviting anyone with concerns to attend the next meeting of the Land Development Committee which will be held October 13, 2022 at 6 PM.
