Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry has two different versions of revisions to the land ordinance that he hastily adopted in March of 2022.  The Chattooga County Land Use Commission sent the documents to the commissioner following a meeting last week.  Originally, the commissioner had planned to have the revisions completed by the first of 2023, but the land use commission he has appointed has been wrangling with the wording of the original document and has also sent a different version of the ordinance to Eslberry’s desk.  Commissioner Elsberry has held true to his promise not to intervene with the work of the commission he appointed, and is expected to make a decision about changes to the ordinance in the near future.  The commissioner has stated that he intends to narrow the scope of the ordinance and define its purpose more succinctly.
