Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters told AM 1180 at 1:10 this afternoon that unless you have four wheel drive, you should not attempt to travel on the roadways in Chattooga County.

Taylors RIdge has been closed twice today by the Georgia DOT due to the icing and snow on the ridge.  Highway 48 has been salted to the state line, but the snow is still coming down.  Highway 157 on the mountain is hazardous. 

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for Chattooga County this afternoon.   Up to 4 inches of snow is expected in the valley areas and up to 10 inches of snow could fall in higher elevations.
