Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry says that he has not received a bill for legal services for the county from Cartersville Attorney Lester Tate.

Tate was hired by the commissioner to look into allegations by the commissioner that local business Try-Con Industry in Lyerly had received free work from the county.  Try-Con Industries Milford Morgan maintained that the work that the county did at the Lyerly facility was all part of a project that was approved by the state and county governments.

Elsberry had demanded the repayment of over $48,000 from Try-Con, but after hiring the out-of-town attorney, the commissioner dropped his demand.

Attorney Tate’s findings concluded that while some paperwork should have been filed differently by the former commissioner, there was no basis for the demand to repay the money.

WZQZ News asked the commissioner for details about how much the county would owe the Cartersville attorney.  Commissioner Elsberry told WZQZ News this week that he still has not received a bill from Tate, even though that work was concluded weeks ago.
