Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters says that work is progressing on the new Ag Building being built close to Summerville Middle School off of Highway 100. The commissioner told AM 1180 that the building structure is finished and “most of the metal is on the building.”The building has been a long time coming, with the initial funds being set aside under former Commissioner Mike Dawson’s administration. The Chattooga County Board of Education agreed to provide the property for the building to be constructed on and the Chattooga County Farm Bureau has donated money towards the project. The first stage of the Ag Center will be a pavilion that will serve as a multi-purpose facility that can be used for livestock shows and other community events.
