Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters is set to announce his decision regarding the future of the Chattooga County EMS on Monday.  Winters has been quoted by The Summerville News as saying that he is "leaning towards privatization."

Commissioner Winters held two public meetings, one in December of last year and one this year, concerning the privatization issue.

Reports indicate that the commissioner talked with EMT’s at Chattooga County’s ambulance service on Friday and told them that he has made the decision to privatize the service.  What remains to be seen is which service the commissioner will go with.  AM 1180 will report on Monday as soon as the commissioner announces his decision.
