Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters held his regular monthly meeting yesterday afternoon at the Commissioner's Office at 5 PM. Other than local media, two residents and Republican State House Candidate Eddie Lumsden were in attendance.
Winters reported having signed a proclamation making Lamar Norton, who is the Executive Director of the Georgia Municipal Association, as an Honorary Chattooga County Citizen. Norton is a native of Chattooga County.
He also appointed Ginger Copleand to the Chattooga County Board of Family and Children's Services for a term that will last until June 30, 2014.
The commissioner will be holding a meeting this morning at 10 AM to set the millage rate for the county. Last week the Chattooga County Board of Education left the school's portion of the millage rate the same as last year, as did the Trion Board of Education. Today's meeting will be held at the Commissioner's Office and the public is invited to attend.
